Well, originally it was "that one lose bar". But my parents got tired of my nighttime travels (and the peanut butter trails I left from the kitchen back to my crib) so my Dad glued the one loose bar shut.

My young mind couldn't reason that all I needed was *one* bar. So I ripped out every bar, looking for the loose one, not finding it, but by then I was so tired I forgot all about the peanut butter.

My parents woke to find me, asleep in my crib, all the bars of the crib on the floor.

I think that's when they moved me to a bed on the floor...

Sliding down the hill behind the apartment my parents had in Kansas City on large bits of cardboard in the middle of spring and/or summer.

I could not have been older than 1 year and a half old.
